Dr. Sana Ramzan is an accounting researcher, AI innovator, and university educator whose work focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, financial fraud detection, and corporate governance. She earned her Doctor of Business Administration from Royal Roads University, where her doctoral research explored how explainable machine learning models can improve the prediction of financial distress and earnings manipulation
Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international academic conferences, with a focus on applying advanced analytics to solve complex financial and regulatory challenges. Through her work, she bridges rigorous academic research with practical industry applications, transforming cutting-edge AI into tools that improve decision-making, transparency, and organizational trust.

Dr. Mark Lokanan is a leading researcher in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and financial crime analytics, with more than two decades of experience advancing fraud detection, anti-money laundering, corporate governance, and predictive risk modeling. As a Professor and Intellectual Lead in Accounting at Royal Roads University, his research combines data science, criminology, and forensic accounting to develop AI-driven solutions that help organizations detect and prevent financial misconduct before it occurs
Before entering academia, Dr. Lokanan served as a fraud investigator with Ontario's Ministry of the Attorney General, bringing extensive real-world investigative experience to his research. He has led numerous government-and industry-funded research initiatives and has published extensively on financial fraud, machine learning, and regulatory analytics.
